Board of Assessors Meeting Minutes

Minutes from the July meeting were read and accepted.
The Board received notification that the year for revaluation certification for Tolland has been changed from FY12 to FY13. This is due to the DOR’s efforts to equalize the number of communities being certified within a given year. Notification can been found on the Mass.gov website.
Reviewed and signed 4 Motor Vehicle abatments and corresponding forms.
The Board readdressed the FY12 budget. It has been agreed that we will ask for 1/3 less in education with a letter of explanation accompanying the submitted budget. Salary for field work will be readdressed after payroll figures from the spring and fall of 2010 can be reviewed.
Though this year’s field work involves a complete town wide drive through, it has been agreed that along with scheduled visits, drive-through must be done annually.
The Board has readdressed the issue of WPOA owned property values as requested by Wildwood Property Owners’ Association. The Board is in agreement that WPOA must add restrictions to every parcel not allowing sale of property. They must also offer proof that the appropriate authority will be used in restricting the property. Jessica will write to the committee requesting information and copy the Board of Directors at WPOA.
Sue Voudren and Jessica Kelmelis did purchase mud boots but they were paid for with personal funds.
Jessica will be submitting the LA forms on Monday August 30th.
